What does a PEMCo season look like?
A typical season for us consists of two full productions and a spring revue! We also typically have a few smaller, more casual performances called cabarets, which are basically musical theatre open-mic nights.

How much of a time commitment is PEMCo?
This depends quite a bit on your role within the production; however, our rehearsals run five days a week from auditions until the show. Typically, we have a 2-6 pm Sunday rehearsal and 7-11 pm weekday rehearsals on Monday-Thursday. Actors will not be called the entire time, and frequency of rehearsals depends on the individual's role within the cast. We try to work around other time commitments (such as classes and other extracurriculars), as long as we're notified of a cast member's conflicts at the start of a production. Production team members also have flexible time commitments, depending on their individual role and responsibilities. Aside from a weekly production meeting, all other responsibilities will take place on the individual's own time. For both cast and crew, tech week and show week attendance is mandatory.
tl;dr We'll work with you to make PEMCo fit with your schedule, but we do have certain expectations for actors and crew members in terms of responsibilities and tasks which must be completed prior to the show.

Does PEMCo interfere with the ND football season?
No! PEMCo does not rehearse on Fridays or Saturdays, so no worries about being able to attend games. Our fall production is scheduled on the weekend of an away game for the 2021 season.

Can I be involved in other extracurriculars while being involved in a PEMCo production?
Definitely! Many of our members are involved in ND Band, Glee Club, FTT, and more. However, your ability to be involved with a particular production may be limited if you already significant time commitments elsewhere. Reach out to us if you have any personal questions.

Do I need to have theatre experience prior to being involved with PEMCo?
No! We welcome individuals of all theatre experience levels. However, cast and crew size is limited, so you may not be cast/placed in your first-choice role. We do require auditions and interviews for all our roles on both the cast and crew, so experience does help there. Still, we're mainly looking for people who love musical theatre and want to be a part of the PEMCommunity. If that's you, we have a wide range of ways to be involved with our productions, and we'd love to have you.
